Hit the `/~ key in the top left of your keyboard once or twice when this happens. It should open the dev console. (If it doesn't, you may need to enable the console from the main menu.) Once you hit that key and the console opens, it should let you quit to the main menu. If you get it to load again, and it simply won't load, it means you aren't

Then fix the errors. Recompile and check the log again to make sure the errors are gone. Once all the errors in your map are fixed recompile and load the map to see if the problem is fixed. You can also use alt+p to show the problem list in Hammer. But that only shows the problems Hammer realizes are problems. #2.
